Terms of Use

Effective: 14 August 2026 · Version: 1.0

Institution configuration notice. “School” means the educational institution operating this RSIS deployment. Before production use, the School must insert its legal name, governing jurisdiction, and legal/privacy contacts, and have qualified counsel approve these terms. These terms do not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

1. Agreement and scope

These Terms govern access to RSIS websites, portals, mobile or desktop clients, learning services, communications, documents, records, and related features operated by the School. By selecting the acceptance box, signing in, or using RSIS, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. A parent or legal guardian must authorize use where applicable law requires it for a minor. School enrollment agreements, handbooks, academic policies, employment rules, and financial-aid terms remain separately applicable; if they conflict, the more specific lawful rule controls for its subject.

2. Accounts and authority

3. Acceptable use

You may use RSIS only for authorized education, administration, employment, support, and school-community purposes. You must not:

4. Student, employee, and user content

You retain rights you lawfully hold in content you submit. You grant the School a limited license to store, process, reproduce, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate RSIS, provide educational and administrative services, comply with law, preserve records, and protect the school community. You represent that submitted content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have authority to provide it. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive information.

5. Academic and administrative decisions

RSIS may calculate scores, recommendations, attendance, progress, eligibility indicators, financial balances, workflow status, and risk flags. These outputs support—but do not replace—authorized human review, official School records, appeal rights, accommodation processes, or professional judgment. Report suspected errors promptly through the School’s published review or appeal procedure.

6. Monitoring, audit, and communications

To protect users and records, the School may log access, changes, exports, approvals, signatures, assessment events, paste events, devices, IP addresses, and security activity, consistent with law and policy. RSIS may send operational notices by email or in-system notification. You are responsible for monitoring the contact channels registered to your account. Electronic records and acknowledgments may be used as evidence where lawful.

7. Privacy and confidentiality

The Privacy Policy describes data practices. Education records must be handled under FERPA and applicable state law; children’s online data may also be subject to COPPA; disability, health, financial-aid, employment, and safety information may have additional restrictions. Users with record access must follow the School’s confidentiality, retention, disclosure, and incident-reporting rules.

8. External services

When configured, RSIS may connect to services such as Gmail for communications and Moodle for learning content. Those services may have separate terms and privacy practices. The School controls which integrations are enabled and is responsible for contracts, permissions, configuration, and lawful use. Links do not constitute endorsement.

9. Intellectual property

RSIS software, interface, documentation, branding, templates, and School-provided content are protected by applicable law and licenses. Except as expressly authorized, you may not copy, reverse engineer, redistribute, sell, remove notices from, or create competing services from protected materials. Lawful accessibility tools and rights that cannot be restricted remain unaffected.

10. Availability and changes

The School may maintain, update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue features to protect security, meet legal or educational needs, or manage operations. Backups and restoration are governed by the School’s deployment procedures. Users should not rely on RSIS as the sole repository for records they are independently required to retain.

11. Enforcement

The School may investigate suspected misuse, preserve relevant evidence, restrict access, require credential reset, remove unlawful content, or refer matters to school officials or authorities, consistent with due process, contracts, policy, and law. Termination of access does not eliminate record-retention duties or outstanding obligations.

12. Disclaimers and limitation

RSIS is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. The School does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the School and its authorized operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss caused by unauthorized user conduct, third-party service failure, or events outside reasonable control. This section does not limit liability, remedies, student rights, consumer rights, disability rights, or privacy rights that cannot legally be limited.

13. Governing rules and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law applicable to the School and its students, employees, and operations, without displacing mandatory federal or state rights. Users should first use the School’s published complaint, appeal, privacy, accessibility, or grievance process. Nothing here prevents a person from contacting an agency or exercising a protected right.

14. Contact and changes

Questions, security reports, accessibility requests, and legal notices must be sent to the contact published by the School. Material revisions will receive a new effective date and may require renewed acceptance. Continued use after lawful notice constitutes acceptance only where permitted.
